At Virgin Forest E&P, developing local talent is not just a compliance requirement — it is a core business strategy. The company believes that the long-term sustainability of Nigeria's upstream sector depends on building a deep pipeline of skilled indigenous professionals capable of leading complex exploration and production operations.
Over the past two years, Virgin Forest E&P has enrolled more than 40 young Nigerian engineers and geoscientists in structured development programmes, combining on-the-job training with mentorship from senior technical staff. The programme covers disciplines including reservoir engineering, production operations, drilling engineering, and HSSE management.
The company also partners with two Nigerian universities to offer internship placements for final-year students in engineering and geosciences. Several former interns have since joined the company as full-time employees.
"We are deliberately building from within," said the Company Secretary Daniel Manaba. "Every international hire we can replace with a trained Nigerian professional is a win for local content and for the long-term resilience of our business."
Applications for the 2026 graduate intake are currently open. Interested candidates can reach out through the company's contact page.
